Stop judging.
PERSON:
I cut myself.
SOCIETY: Stop looking for attention. PERSON: I don't eat because food terrifies me. SOCIETY: I never thought you'd be one of those people who starve themselves because they want to be thin. PERSON: I'm socially anxious. SOCIETY: You're so awkward, stop bringing the mood down. PERSON: I don't go to school because I don't know how to cope anymore. SOCIETY: You don't go to school because you're lazy. PERSON: I need somebody to talk to. SOCIETY: You're always so full of yourself. PERSON: I smoke marijuana because I like it, that's all there is to it and that's all you need to know. SOCIETY: That's so bad for you, why do you do this to yourself? PERSON: Sometimes I just like to get drunk. SOCIETY: You're such an alcoholic. PERSON: I slept with that person because I wanted to feel loved. SOCIETY: I don't care what problems you have, that's not the way to get it. PERSON: I smoke cigarettes, that's just who I am. SOCIETY: Cigarettes are so gross. PERSON: I lash out on people because I'm angry inside and I'm doing whatever I can to survive. SOCIETY: You're so rude, don't be such a bitch. PERSON: I have depression. SOCIETY: Depression doesn't exist. PERSON: I'm gay/lesbian/bisexual. SOCIETY: You're going to hell. PERSON: I'm just going to stop telling people things because theres always something wrong with the person I am. SOCIETY: You won't get help if you keep your problems to yourself. PERSON: I can't tell anyone anything because I'm going to be labelled. I'm just going to have to learn to deal with things myself and hope everything works out. SOCIETY: Why don't you tell us things anymore?
